Franchin Guitars is an Italian boutique guitar company founded by Mattia Franchin in 2016. The instruments are built in the company’s workshop near Vicenza, Italy, combining traditional guitar building with a strong artistic approach to finishes. The Mercury is Franchin’s interpretation of the classic S-style guitar and one of the core models in the range. The Classic Relic version combines traditional styling with nitrocellulose lacquer and an individually handcrafted aging process inspired by well-played vintage instruments. As the relic work is done by hand, every instrument is unique.

2026 Franchin Guitars Mercury – Sea Foam Green – Light Relic
Franchin Guitars is an Italian boutique guitar company founded by Mattia Franchin in 2016. The instruments are built in the company’s workshop near Vicenza, Italy, combining traditional guitar building with a strong artistic approach to finishes. Each guitar is individually finished and aged by hand, while Franchin’s pickups are also hand-wound in-house.
The Mercury is Franchin’s interpretation of the classic S-style guitar and one of the core models in the range. The Classic Relic version combines traditional styling with nitrocellulose lacquer and an individually handcrafted aging process inspired by well-played vintage instruments. As the relic work is done by hand, every instrument is unique.
This particular Mercury is finished in classic Sea Foam Green nitro with a Light Relic treatment and additional paint cracking. A Mint Green pickguard, Vintage White plastics and relic chrome hardware complete the vintage-inspired appearance.
The body is made from two-piece American Alder, paired with a Roasted Maple neck and Roasted Maple fingerboard. A C-shaped neck profile, traditional 9.5″ radius and 22 Jumbo frets combine classic geometry with a slightly more modern playing feel.
The SSS configuration features three Franchin Alnico V Staggered hand-wound single coils. Franchin winds its pickups in-house following vintage-inspired specifications, with the middle pickup reverse wound / reverse polarity. Vintage-style wiring completes the electronics package.
Hardware comes from Gotoh, including the vintage-style tremolo and Gotoh tuners, finished to match the aged character of the guitar.
