2026 Nik Huber Adam Miller Signature – Exceptional Flame Redwood – 2-Tone Burst

Nik Huber Guitars is one of Europe’s most respected boutique guitar manufacturers. Nik began building guitars in 1993 and founded the company in 1996 in Rodgau, Germany. Coming from four generations of woodworkers, he developed a distinctive approach combining exceptional tonewoods, traditional craftsmanship and highly refined modern guitar building. Today, a small team of skilled luthiers builds only around 350 instruments per year in the Rodgau workshop, keeping production deliberately limited and quality-focused.

The Adam Miller Signature was developed in collaboration with Australian guitarist Adam Miller, an artist known for his highly dynamic playing style that blends jazz harmony, fingerstyle technique, blues and contemporary instrumental music. Miller has been a long-time Nik Huber player and is officially listed among the company’s artists.

The concept behind the Adam Miller model was to create an exceptionally responsive semi-hollow electric guitar that would offer the acoustic liveliness of a hollow instrument while remaining compact, comfortable and practical enough for professional touring. Compared with Miller’s earlier Rietbergen-based guitar, the design became smaller and more hollow, with an emphasis on natural resonance, dynamics and touch sensitivity.

This particular example is an especially beautiful specification built around an Exceptional Flame Redwood top. Redwood is visually striking but, more importantly, contributes to the very immediate and resonant character of the instrument. Underneath sits a Mahogany Semi-Hollow body, giving the guitar warmth, depth and a strong acoustic response.

The finish is an elegant 2-Tone Burst, combined with a semi-gloss surface and an open-pore back. The highly figured redwood remains clearly visible beneath the burst, while cream front binding adds a subtle traditional accent. It is a sophisticated finish that lets the natural character of the wood remain the main visual feature.

Eastern Maple neck & Sterling Silver details

The neck is made from Eastern Maple and uses Nik Huber’s comfortable Standard Piet neck carve. It is paired with an East Indian Rosewood fingerboard, creating a combination that balances the quick response of maple with the warmer feel and tone of rosewood.

One of the signature visual details of the model is the set of Silver Ring fingerboard inlays made from Sterling Silver. Together with the ebony headstock face, ebony tuner buttons and East Indian Rosewood back plate, these details give the guitar the understated, almost furniture-grade elegance associated with Nik Huber’s finest instruments.

Kloppmann Mini Humbuckers

The electronics are built around a matched set of Kloppmann Mini Humbuckers.

Their character fits the semi-hollow construction particularly well. Compared with a traditional full-size humbucker, mini humbuckers typically retain more definition and attack while still providing the body, smoothness and low-noise operation associated with a dual-coil pickup.

In the Adam Miller, the result is an extremely articulate and touch-sensitive instrument capable of moving naturally between clean jazz-inspired sounds, blues, roots, fusion and more driven tones without losing note separation.

The semi-hollow mahogany construction adds air and harmonic complexity, while the redwood top and maple neck help retain immediacy and clarity.

Hardware

The guitar uses Nik Huber / Gotoh 510 Open Gear tuners with ebony buttons and a Tune-O-Matic bridge with nylon saddles. The nylon saddles are an important part of the model’s character, softening the initial transient slightly and contributing to its organic, almost acoustic response.

Black and silver brushed Top Hat knobs and a matching brushed black switch tip complete the understated boutique aesthetic.
