Shabat Guitars is a family-owned American boutique guitar company founded by Avi Shabat. After years of working as a luthier and guitar technician, Avi launched his own line of instruments in 2012. Today, Shabat specializes in handcrafted, build-to-spec guitars combining classic designs and vintage-inspired character with the consistency and playability of a modern boutique instrument.

The Lion JD was developed together with guitarist Justin Derrico, best known for his work with P!nk and NBC’s The Voice. It combines elements of two iconic single-cut designs in an all-mahogany, dual-humbucker platform with a short 24.75″ scale and Graph Tech ResoMax Wraptail bridge.

This particular guitar features a striking Black over Gold nitro finish. Heavy Aging reveals areas of the Gold finish underneath the black topcoat, creating a very distinctive, naturally worn appearance. Aged Gold hardware, black 5-ply pickguard, binding and Pearloid Block inlays complete the look.

The guitar features a mahogany body and mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, comfortable Medium C neck profile, straight 12″ radius and 22 Dunlop 6105 frets.

A pair of Lollar Imperial Humbuckers in Standard Wind / High Wind configuration delivers the classic warmth and depth of a great humbucker while retaining excellent clarity and dynamic response.
