The Shabat Story

Avi Shabat’s path into guitar building began after discovering a broken truss rod in a newly purchased five-string bass. Following his graduation from the Algranti School of Lutherie, he moved to Los Angeles, worked in local guitar repair shops and later joined a well-known boutique guitar company, where he spent several years developing his craft.

Alongside his instrument-building work, Avi established Guitar Groomer, specialising in guitar and bass repair and restoration. In 2012, this experience evolved into Shabat Guitars and a complete range of handmade electric guitars and basses. His background as both a builder and a professional live guitar technician continues to influence every instrument bearing the Shabat name.

Classic Designs, Refined

Shabat does not attempt to reinvent the electric guitar simply for the sake of being different. Instead, the company focuses on the classic designs that have shaped modern music and carefully refines their details.

The result is a collection of instruments with the sound, response and visual character associated with great vintage guitars, combined with the stability and playability expected by today’s musicians. Neck profiles, fret sizes, pickups, woods, hardware and finishes can be selected to create an instrument tailored to the player rather than a standard production specification.

The Shabat Collection

The Shabat range covers a wide variety of traditional and original guitar designs.

The Lion family offers the company’s interpretation of the classic T-style platform, from traditional configurations to models equipped with P-90s, humbuckers or semi-hollow construction. The Lynx represents Shabat’s refined double-cutaway S-style design, while instruments such as the Puma, Cheetah and Bobcat explore offset, short-scale and performance-oriented concepts.

The collection also includes baritone guitars, semi-hollow models and boutique basses, giving players access to a broad range of tones and playing experiences while maintaining a consistent Shabat identity.
