The Gibson Les Paul remains one of the most iconic electric guitars ever built. Since its introduction in 1952, it has shaped the sound of countless recordings and performances across blues, rock, jazz and beyond.

Built by the Gibson Custom Shop, the Historic Reissue series was created to faithfully recreate the legendary Les Pauls of the 1950s. Every detail, from the neck profile and construction methods to the nitrocellulose finish, is designed to capture the feel and tone of the original instruments.

The 1956 Les Paul Standard Reissue, commonly known as the R6, represents an important chapter in Les Paul history. 1956 was the first full production year featuring the now legendary Tune-O-Matic bridge. Combined with a pair of P-90 pickups, the result is a guitar offering exceptional dynamics, articulation and the unmistakable raw vintage character that has made the R6 a favorite among discerning players.

This particular instrument was built in 2014 and belongs to the relatively rare factory Aged versions. At that time, aged Custom Shop guitars were significantly less common than today’s Murphy Lab models, making these earlier aged instruments increasingly desirable.

Beneath the classic Goldtop finish lies a beautiful Flame Maple top, adding an extra level of exclusivity and visual appeal to this already exceptional guitar.

The guitar remains in very good condition and comes complete with all original Gibson Custom Shop accessories.
