Description
The Gibson Les Paul Deluxe was introduced in 1969. Initially built with a one-piece mahogany body, it was later changed to the so-called. pancake body, which was made of two pieces of mahogany separated by a thin piece of maple. From 1975, the three-piece mahogany neck was replaced with a three-piece maple neck. Gibson used two mini Humbucker pickups on the Deluxe models in place of the full-size humbuckers previously featured on Les Paul guitars in the 1950s and early 1960s. The Deluxe Pro model was also introduced from 1978, which featured p90 pickups and an ebony fingerboard instead of rosewood. The model was discontinued in 1985 and reissued in 2005.
