Suhr Custom Modern – The Perfect Blend of Modern and Classic

The Suhr Custom Modern is an exceptional, non-standard model designed for guitarists who value high-quality craftsmanship, versatility, and modern sound. This is a custom, non-production model, meaning it was built to special order with the utmost attention to detail. Despite a few light signs of use, including minor belt scratches on the back of the body, the guitar remains in excellent condition and delivers its full range of capabilities.

Technical Specifications:

  • Body: Made from mahogany, providing warm and full-bodied sound. The top is a quilt maple, beautifully highlighted by the 2-Tone Tobacco Burst finish. The body features ergonomic arm and tummy contours for enhanced playing comfort.
  • Neck: Crafted from Pau Ferro, offering excellent stability, smoothness, and unique tonal characteristics. The neck has a Modern Elliptical profile, with a thickness ranging from 0.800″ at the first fret to 0.850″ at the twelfth fret, ensuring comfort for both rhythm playing and fast solos.
  • Fretboard: Also made from Pau Ferro, adding warmth to the tone. The fretboard features a compound radius of 10″–14″ with a Standard Roll finish, providing comfortable playability across the entire neck. It is fitted with medium-jumbo stainless steel frets (type 6105), known for their durability and precision.
  • Bridge: Gotoh 510 (2-Post, Solid Saddles, Steel Block, Chrome, Recessed) – a high-quality bridge that ensures smooth tremolo action and excellent tuning stability.
  • Pickups: HSH configuration with Suhr Aldrich pickups (Neck and Bridge) and an ML Standard (Middle), all in black. This setup provides a wide tonal range, from warm and clear sounds to aggressive tones perfect for rock and metal.
  • Electronics: 5-way blade switch allowing for various pickup combinations. The Volume and Tone controls offer precise sound adjustment to suit the guitarist’s preferences.
  • Hardware: Gotoh Kluson tuners in chrome, offering excellent tuning stability and a classic look.
  • Additional Information: The guitar comes with a black hardshell case for secure transport. It is strung with .010-.046 gauge strings and is set up in standard E tuning.
